Economy of the region: Steinmeyer has purchased a thread grinding machine for slightly less than 1 million Euro / cooperation with machine manufacturer.

Steinmeyer has a good name in the field of machinery manufacturers nationally and internationally, in terms of precision ball screws.

In recent days, the company has started working with  a new external thread grinding machine (Photo  of Workshop). Albstadt plant has planned and conducted jointly with the Spanish machine tool manufacturer, Doimak (near Bilbao), this individualized project. The machine is designed to the specific high quality demands of Steinmeyer and all the axes are assembled with screws manufactured in the plant of Albstadt.

In the words of the technical director, Bernhard Münster, “This is an investment in our main capacity and it means the strengthening  of our location here in Albstadt, as well as a capacity expansion, which ensures that we can manage optimally  medium-term  customer orders of rectified spindles for a length up to 4 meters. ”

The full amount of the investment reaches almost one million Euro and means the recognition of the Albstadt plant, due to the fact that in 2008 was also installed a machine of the same manufacturer (Doimak) In this case the Doimak machine model grinds till 6 meters.

In words of Markus Beisel, technology and machines director of Albstadt plant, “ with this investment it is concluded another relevant internal project”

During a year, his team along with him has worked planning the new equip and managing the assembly due to the fact that was supplied by parties. A masterly performance considering that the machine weights more than 20 tons and had to be connected to the centralized equipment oil supply available in Albstadt plant.
